gulf shores

Since the weather wasn't very good we did a lot of indoor crafts.
Mommy didn't do a very good job packing. I brought 2 different shoes for Camden.
Luckily, they were for different feet!
No beach visit is complete without a trip to Walmart! We find this guy on special!
Oysters on the half shell! Delicious! This was at Doc's Seafood.
We still played with our buckets and shovels.
And we danced.
And watched tv and ate crackers!
One night we enjoyed the band, Kyle & Kevin (I think) at The Hangout. This is their wishing wall.
It was a honeycomb pattern made out of kraft paper, with tiny slips of colored paper rolled up and stuffed in the holes. Camden thought it was fascinating!

We had a great time at the beach even if the weather wasn't that nice. We are really looking forward to our next trip!

Beach & Pool in Gulf Shores

When we went to the beach in early March, the wind was gale force, and the waves were ferocious!

There were also jelly fish on the beach the first few days. I looked it up and these are Man O' Wars!
We did have a few nice days. I got to sit in a beach chair with my toes in the sand & relax all by myself!
Mostly it was so windy that we had to bundle up to be on the beach. Here's Cam with his GIANT sand shovel.
He loved the sand and shoveling.
We also spent some time at the pool when it was so windy. Sand really stings!
You can see how overcast it was here.
We had fun with Mommy throwing the boats in the pool and Cam waiting for them to blow "ashore."
I also had the bright idea to bring some sand up from the beach for Camden to play with. That ended up being kind of messy.

Camden really loved this little water fall.

More beach photos to come! We are looking forward to going back when the weather is nicer!

Mardi Gras at the Beach

We ended up going to Gulf Shores during Mardi Gras. They had a couple of very family oriented parades that we enjoyed. It was super low key, especially compared to New Orleans!
Me & Dad & the Shrimp Basket in Orange Beach, waiting for the parade.
Brad, Camden & Cousin John as the parade approached.

Trying to catch beads from a float
Big Al was in the parade!
Camden with his beds, back at the condo.
Camden got a ton of stuffed animals! He proudly displayed all off them on P-Pa's lap.

All in all we really enjoyed Mardi Gras at the beach. Camden & I went to another parade on Fat Tuesday, but I didn't get to take any pictures. It was hard enough holding Camden with one arm and trying to catch beads & stuffed animals with the other arm in 20 mph winds!

The Cuteness

Playing Horsey

One of Camden's favorite activities is playing Horsey with Mommy & Daddy acting as the horse. The "horse" has to have a blanket saddle. The command is "horsey down" to mount up.

Sometimes, Camden likes to be the horse. He is giving his stick pony a ride!
As you can see in the video, Camden gets a big kick out of this!

Today is our 11th Anniversary! Here's a quick picture before going to dinner.
And our little camera hog wanted to be in the picture too.
