Valentine's Mailbox

Camden is getting so big now that I've been letting him sit at the table for breakfast. Most days he has a banana, blueberries and cheerios for breakfast. He loves to cram in as many cheerios at once as he possibly can.
He has a whole method: fist cram, wipe with back of hand, then palm to get those few strays.
On thursday we did a Valentine craft. I got a paper mache mailbox from Hobby Lobby and covered it with scrapbook paper.
After I covered, Cam helped me color the exposed edges with a pink sharpie.
Then we decorated it with fun stickers and his name.
Of course, no mailbox is complete without mail! I bought several super cute Valentines at the $spot at Target. Can you tell I love Target? That was the worst part of Camden being sick so long - no Target trips! I had to get my fix on a Sunday night when Brad was home with Camden!
I set up the mailbox and a tiny bucket of pencils on a little table that was just the right size for Camden. So far, he has been way more interested in the pencils than the mailbox.
Sorry that picture is blurry, but the kid never stops moving! My next attempt was also a fail, because he attacked the camera!
This video is cute! Camden was "counting" his pencils, and handing them to me one by one.
Enjoy!

Wednesday

On Wednesday Camden was definitely on the mend and the weather got up in the high 50s so we went for a walk and then played in the front yard. We both really enjoyed it. I was looking for a ball to toss to Camden but found this frisbee/boomerang thing instead.

Camden thought it was a hat.
Then he discovered it would go over his head and he could wear it like a necklace. I promise I wasn't playing "Ring the Baby!"
Next he started bouncing up and down in one place. And singing to himself. This boy really is my kid!
After an hour outside in the fresh air, Cam Cam was all tuckered out.
He cuddled up in Daddy's arms.
I think he's pinching himself because he's finally figured out this gig is too good too be true!
"yup, I'm awake! What a sweet life I have!"

And now for the Grandparents enjoyment, too boring videos unless you are related to this kid!

RSV

In case you've been wondering why I haven't been posting much lately, it's because Camden is sick. When we got home from Vegas I discovered he had a cough & runny nose. The next day it was worse so I took him to the doctor and sure enough, he has RSV. The doctor said it was mild & not serious, but would last from 7-21 days. Yes, that's 1 to 3 weeks! Well, we are going on day 10. Camden is getting better, it's just really slow going. Guess what my baby wants to do when he's sick? Sit on my lap. No where else will do, not even for a minute. So we've been watching a lot of Sesame Street, Word World, & animated movies for the last week & a half. Computer time has been out because Camden screams and fusses if I even sit down in my office chair. Here's a few pictures to tide you over:

Camden has become addicted to Ritz crackers! He carries them around everywhere. They're one of the few things he would eat for almost a week.

Today we both got dressed in street clothes (instead of pj's). This is a play phone I got at the dollar spot in Target and Camden loves it. They had another style, too, and I'm going back to get it.

He looks so serious because he's watching Sesame Street.

Here's hoping the runny nose dries up soon, the appetite continues to improve, the yucko diapers come to a complete stop!

A trip to Joann's

We made a trip to Joann's, which was fun for me because we don't have one in Huntsville. It's so much better than Hobby Lobby or Michael's, or even Hancock! The girls loved it because they got to chase Camden all over the store. Camden loved it because they had these giant stuff animals!
He carried them all over the store!

Oops, he fell down. Thank goodness the lion cushioned his fall!

See this music display? He is staring at because Sara would push the buttons & Camden would dance to the music!

I'm not really sure what you call that carrying hold...

Oh! Looks like he traded in the lion for a puppy dog!

He kept laying on top of them and patting them which means he's tired and wants to take a nap. So cute!

I love this video!
Tomorrow I will show you the sewing projects we worked on! Stay Tuned!

Crafts

Camden & I drove down to Birmingham on New Year's Day to spend the weekend with my best friend Susan and her family. We did some fun crafts and sewing projects while we were there. I had been wanting to make crayons for awhile so peeled, broke & sorted 5 boxes of crayons.

All the pretty colors

Help! I'm melting!

The final result! So cool!

The bottoms (which were the tops while baking) were pretty ugly looking, but I think that's normal. I guess we could have cut it off, but we didn't think of that.

All stacked up!
All in all, this was a fun project and I would definitely do it again!

So Happy to see my Baby

This is who I could not wait to get home to:

Using the bicycle pump to inflate his new Roby- a hopping horse.

Climbing in his car seat...

...Just because it's there.

I thought this video of Cam was pretty amusing. I had just gotten the pump out and had not shown him how to use it. He figured it out all on his own!

Backyard fun

We finally had some warmish, beautiful weather the day we left for Vegas. We spent the morning running around the backyard. Don't ask why the swing is turned over like that because I don't know. Seriously, no clue. We have one of those ladderball games that was so fun at the beach when we played with someone else's, and then we bought one and have used it like twice. Then we lost the balls and had to buy new ones, only the new balls only came in one color so we had to put tape on some of them to tell who's who's. Then I lost my jumper cables, but found the old balls while I was tearing up the garage looking for the jumper cables. (I never found them, but trusty ol' Dad gave me a new set for Christmas. I knew he would.) We left the new balls outside for months, and now the nylon rope has broken. Cheap balls. Guess I'm going to have find the old balls again, because I'm sure they're not where I say them last. Anyway, all that to say that Camden loves these balls and loves to carry them around. So that is why he is running around looking like he's armed for a street fight in these pictures. He thought the one pushed up pajama leg would give him street cred. But I really have no explanation for why he is still wearing his heavy duty hippo bib, or why I clearly didn't bother to wipe the chef-boy-r-dee off his face, or even put his shoes on. Gosh, I'm sounding like mother-of-the-year material already!

"You better run, Daddy! I'm gonna get you!"

My Birthday

I turned 37 on Christmas Eve. Boo. I am getting closer to 40 and I DON'T LIKE IT! I did have a great birthday with my family, though.

I think Camden has really been taking his new Elmo Can Use the Potty Video to heart:

Now if I can just get him to use his Elmo Potty instead of his shape sorter bucket!

I really wanted Rosie's for my birthday dinner, but they were closed. Something about spending time with their loved ones on Christmas Eve. Blah, blah, blah. Don't they know it's my birthday!?! So we ended up at Outback. It was super yummy. Here's me & Dad.

My two handsome guys!
Before we went out to eat I got to open presents! Check out these awesome boots my dad bought me! Okay, so I may have picked them out, but he approved!

I have been wanting a cute ladies BoSox t-shirt & this one is perfect! I may have picked this out, too. ;-)

No birthday would be complete without my own personal bottle of Goldschlager!
Earlier in the day, my bestie Leslie, her daughter Lala (Laurel) & her fiancee Josh came to visit.

I was just out of the shower so my hair was still wet. I was so excited to have visitors on my birthday! It's pretty rare since people always want to hang out with their families on Christmas Eve. Blah, blah, blah. Don't they know it's my birthday!?!
My most precious gift!
Happy Birthday to Me!
