Bahamas '10

Brad & I celebrated our 10th anniversary (can I get a Woot! Woot!) by going to Cable Beach in the Bahamas. We flew into Nassau and stayed at the Wyndham & Crystal Palace Resort & Casino. We had been there before but stayed next door at the Sheraton last time. It's a very nice resort. We never even left it.
Here we are in the Atlanta Sky Lounge. I was so excited because this was my first time in there!
Even though it was 7:30am I drank a bloody mary because it was FREE! And it was VACATION! And Yes, I drank on the plane because I was sitting in FIRST CLASS and it was FREE! I'll tell you the truth, Free Liquor just tastes better! There was only 1 first class seat left and my sweet husband let me have it. He flies first class all the time so I didn't feel too bad about it.
There was a lady in the lounge near as that was sick as a dog. Wouldn't you know she was sitting RIGHT NEXT TO ME on the plane! She threw up 3 times before we even took off. I was scared she had SARS or something but it turned out she was having blood sugar issues with her diabetes. Then I just felt sorry for her.
Here we are in the taxi.
We stopped by the liquor store on the way to the resort. No, that's not Guinness in the box. It's vodka & rum, of course!
The view from our room
This is the beach looking left from our balcony. That's where we hung out everyday. There was a Bahamian down on the beach selling Pina Coladas out of real coconuts. He would yell out "Ding! Ding! Ding! Get your native* drinks! No sleeping, no reading! Only drinking! Ding! Ding! Ding!" Even though we were on the 10th floor, we could hear him from our room!
*we though he was saying Lady drinks
This is the view looking right from our balcony. That land mass in the distance is Paradise Island where Atlantis is. Our pool was just out of sight to the right in this picture.
Our room and what I like to call the world's ugliest bedspread. Susan, you would not have approved. Everything else was lovely, though.
The view from my beach chair. My feet.
Brad's feet.
Brad's hairy chest. He was greatly relieved to not be sporting a shaved "S" in his chest this trip.
Me in the surf. Just keeping it real.
Brad in the surf, posing like Adonis. He claimed he was on a shelf and trying not to fall over, but I'm not sure about that.
Me on the balcony reading a book.
You can see Atlantis in this picture: it's the light pink buildings taller than everything else. We were about 20 minutes away by car.
In the pool at the swim up bar. We would walk over to the pool, go down the waterslide, then swim up to the bar and get, what else, a Pina Colada!
Smooch! The photographer made us do that. ;-)
On our anniversary, waiting on a table at Miso. Turns out we waited all night
We enjoyed champagne and several cocktails at the bar while waiting....
We finally decided to eat at the bar. Long story short: crispy duck sucks!
Meanwhile we entertained ourselves by taking cheesy self portraits.
"You don't know who I am!" - Me, after a long night & too many Long Island high school graduates getting in my way. I may or may not have dog-cussed politely scolded some of them in the elevator.
Our last day in paradise.
My handsome hubby.
Bye Bye Bahamas
All in all it was an absolutely wonderful anniversary trip!
